Track Regulations

Track Licenses:

All racetracks that are sanctioned by the HFF committee to host races and events must have a license, with different levels of licenses needed to host different series (this is currently only for the HFF Speedway).

Each track must have a mandatory inspection to ratify a track’s license, by making sure it is safe for competitors to race, for staff to work, and for spectators to watch.

Each racetrack must have emergency points for medical cars, safety cars, as well as for emergency personnel as well as drivers to escape safely in case of emergency.

Each racetrack must have an on-site medical Centre.

Track Dimensions:

The racetrack’s width must be minimum two race car’s width and maximum four race car’s width.

There is to be no required number of turns or straights.

Barriers:

HFF RCT needs to consider the track layout, topography, racing lines, speed, and structures outside of the circuit when deciding what type of barrier to use as the first line of protection (Spacing Issues may occur if this is not met).

Either a barrier is needed to absorb the energy of a car travelling at speed, or a run-off area (covered in gravel and grass only) is required to give drivers space to reign control. This depends on the design of the track, the type of barrier and the speed restriction.

All permanent barriers need to be covered by advertising.

Advertising must Mostly cover the permanent barrier without it touching the track. Advertising boards must be stuck permanently without being able to fall onto the racetrack.

Advertising companies, the racetrack inspector and the racetrack owners are responsible for the advertising boards and barriers.

If there are any moveable barriers:

The barriers must be permanently stuck and are unable to move during the race. There is a structural point located at the bottom of the barrier, which is then able to keep the barrier in place so the barrier doesn’t move.

All barriers, track surfaces, gravel traps, grass strips, service roads and kerbs must be maintained regularly
